Youth Care Worker

Duties:
- Engage and nurture youth in our Healing Homes
- Provide and promote opportunities to increase participation in Traditional Indigenous practices for
Indigenous clients
- To support and assist children in exploring their culture
- Participation in recreational programming is required
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team
- Participate in the development of client care plans
Qualifications:
- Minimum Gr.12, or diploma/degree in Child Youth Care, Addictions and Community Service, Family
Support, Community Development, Social Work etc. Other related programs will be considered
- Experience working with youth ages 12-17
- Respectful of cultural diversity
- Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous History, culture, practices, customs and beliefs
- Excellent and proven interpersonal and supportive counselling skills
- Experience working with youth facing behavioral and emotional challenges
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Valid Manitoba Driver’s License

- First Aid/CPR would be an asset or training can be arranged upon hire
- Successful applicants will be subject to provide Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Reference checks
- Prior Contact Checks will be completed by Knowles Centre

Salary: $17.88 - $22.76
Schedule: Weekends Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
