The Key Accounts Manager is an individual committed to driving growth, strengthening and maintaining current relationships with the food service and industrial food market. This includes managing the accounts of other food manufacturers, restaurants, food distributors, and other retailers. The ideal candidate is naturally customer-focused, has a strong sense of urgency, and demonstrates exemplary interpersonal and relationship-building skills. The Account Manager is a self-starter, who is capable of thinking innovatively about how we can provide solutions for our customer's needs. Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment which includes addressing customer needs, timely responses, and handling all aspects of the customer relationship. The individual should maintain solid product knowledge and work closely with individuals from all departments to ensure seamless service.
- Be the main point of contact and will be considered the “go-to” person among customers within their account set
- Uncover customer needs and offer tailored ingredients/products to meet these needs
- Enhance current relationships with existing customers and develop new relationships by delivering an exceptional customer experience from the first interaction
- Timely responses to customer requests/inquiries
- Work with all departments to address customer needs
- Lead the charge in facilitating the establishment of customer relationships between other Haliburton team members including culinary, R&D, quality, senior management, etc.
- Proactively share customer information freely among the team keeping members informed on customer activities and as well as passing along original customer correspondence
- Follows and adheres to all company business processes and protocols including customer/project qualification, product approval, contracting, price quotes, commercialization, sales pipeline, etc.
- Is well informed and shares customer menu activities, promotions, and marketing calendar with the team
- Takes the lead in planning and coordinating key customer “special” events including Haliburton executive business meetings, customer conferences, and special events
- Is willing to travel by air or automobile including working some weekends as customer activities demand
- Adheres to and models good manufacturing practices (GMPS) whenever in the plant
- Other duties as assigned
What We Are Looking For
- 2+ years account management experience
- Previous food industry sales experience is an asset
- Prior customer success experience
- Strong verbal & written English communication
- Strong ability to take initiative & confidently direct customer interactions
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a self-directed way
- Thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Attentive to detail
- Passion for food and food trends preferred
