The primary function of this role is to successfully manage and grow a portfolio of essential Aeroplan online relationships via the Aeroplan eStore. With a thorough understanding of partner management, affiliate marketing, member engagement and consumer loyalty, this role delivers against Aeroplan's overall strategy to achieving everyday relevance with members and ensuring we are a global leader in the Travel and Loyalty sector.

The incumbent must be able to collaborate effectively and influence internal and external stakeholders to flawlessly execute business objectives. This role requires a business leader who excels at building and strengthening relationships with the ability to cross sell, upsell and execute contracts. This individual must have the unique ability to project manage deliverables, while overseeing a robust portfolio of ~250 online merchants. Additionally, the individual is responsible for financial and strategic delivery of AC and partner specific targets.

This position may be located in Downtown Toronto or Montreal.

Key Functions & Accountabilities

Partnership Management

  • Grow and deepen existing relationships in affiliate marketing channel, working with ~250 world class online retailers
  • Build and deliver eStore online retailer marketing campaigns, negotiating increased commissions and selling marketing channel placements
  • Work with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Creative, 3rd party supplier, Legal, Procurement, etc.) to ensure that partnership/merchant goals and contract objectives are achieved
  • Attend annual conferences to network and keep abreast of industry news, trends and evolving technology

Business Development & Revenue Generation

  • Meet or exceed financial targets for eStore
  • Source, explore and investigate potential new eStore partners to drive Aeroplan revenue
  • Identify growth and value add opportunities for existing partners in order to increase spend
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams spanning procurement, legal, insurance, tax, privacy, and IT to manage execution of contractual agreements

Operations

  • Support the delivery and execution for the affiliate aspect of Aeroplan eStore
  • Prepare annual budgets, ongoing forecasting, analysis, and monthly financial reporting for eStore
  • Track performance and gain insights through the use of various reporting tools including Adobe Analytics, Power BI and those provided by various affiliate networks
  • Work with IT, Partner Marketing, Product teams and service provider to launch and onboard new affiliate partnerships, offering new earn opportunities for members
  • Drive a culture of increased productivity, creating and developing processes which will drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Provide insightful feedback to product team on eStore platform optimization, delivering value to members
  • Ownership of ensuring creative and content accuracy on platform, by conducting ongoing platform audits and reviews of marketing assets and offers
  • Handle daily ad-hoc requests from partners to deliver against their ongoing business needs
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and partners to investigate and resolve customer inquiries

Marketing

  • Initiate discussions with partner marketing to deliver strategies and build campaign initiatives that contribute to the continued growth of the eStore
  • Review, provide feedback, and approve all creative assets for eStore communications to ensure key messaging is conveyed to drive member engagement and revenue
  • Ongoing communications with partners/merchants to sell placements and effectively promote their brands, ensuring creative messaging achieves partner/merchant goals
  • Engage with Marketing, Operations and 3rd service provider regarding the eStore to maximize partner visibility and creative positioning to achieve campaign success
  • Manage 3rd party service provider relationship as it relates to eStore affiliate partners
  • Communicate and monitor execution of weekly platform updates (multipliers, placements) and marketing initiatives

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years Account management experience in retail, loyalty, affiliate marketing, sales and business development
  • Exemplary partner management skills, with ability to operate as key point of contact for all matters specific to accounts from supporting strategies, driving growth to managing customer escalations
  • Experience negotiating and executing contracts/agreements to maximize profitability
  • Ability to communicate, build consensus and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Proven track record in setting/meeting or exceeding targets in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with a focus on operational excellence
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build long lasting relationships, adapting and leading with a flexible mindset and a passion for growth
  • Keen attention to detail and time management with ability to manage complex, multi-faceted projects with minimal supervision and direction
  • Demonstrated effective communication and leadership skills with experience delivering client focused solutions to customer needs
  • Content management expertise, knowledgeable at inputting, updating and maintaining data (e.g. eStore Platform, Unica) and pulling data/reports (Cubik)
  • Experience with forecasting, managing and tracking multiple financial budgets, client invoicing
  • Post-secondary education in business administration, marketing or a related field
