The Accountant is responsible for full cycle accounting and ensuring timely, complete, and accurate financial reporting. The Accountant will also provide mentorship to Junior and Staff Accountants.

Responsibilities for this role include:
- Reconciling sub-ledgers to the general ledger account balance
- Preparing financial statements
- Performing account reconciliations, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
- Monthly calculation of revenue distributions to owners
- Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
- Assisting in the design and preparation of budgets and prepare for comparison and analysis purposes
- Preparing and filing government remittances
- Ensuring thorough understanding of management agreements in portfolio
- Assisting with year end duties
- Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
- Maintaining accurate accounting records, including financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements
- Bi-weekly travel to Canmore is required and potential travel to other locations assigned in the portfolio
- Other relevant duties as assigned
The “must haves”:
- 5+ years of Accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting standards
- Proficient English verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational, time management, and detail orientated skills
- Ability to create, grow, and maintain relationships with internal departments and operational leaders.
- Physical ability to occasionally lift to 20 lbs.
- Ability to travel throughout North America when required, access to a reliable vehicle and possession of a valid, clean class 5 driver’s license or equivalent
The “nice to haves”
- Accounting designation (CPA)
- Previous accounting experience in the hospitality industry
- Exposure to US GAAP, IFRS and/or SOX
