We are looking for Accountant to join our Toronto Headquarters!

What You Will Do

• Assist with driving the full-cycle accounting process for Hanson and related entities, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations etc.
• Assist with month-end closing and analysis.
• Process accounts payable invoices and ensuring that internal controls are followed by staff members.
• Verifying and setting up all payments in ScotiaConnect including weekly AP, refunds, commissions, etc.
• Accounts Receivable management and reporting.
• Accurately reviewing, coding, and processing vendor invoices in accounting system (Quick Books).
• Ensuring that all credit card receipts are submitted on time.
• Record and reconcile credit card transactions and to provide analysis on a semi-monthly basis.
• Communicate and resolve commission queries with other departments.
• Reviewing QuickBooks general ledger to ensure that transactions are posted accurately.
• Responsible for Project Accounting: budget vs actual for events, capital project, KPIs for Student Services, etc.

What You Will Bring

• 1-3 years of accounting experience.
• Minimum of College Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA designation is an asset
• Experience using QuickBooks.
• Well organized with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate Excel skills with proven ability to work with large datasets.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask, manage priority, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently or alongside team members.
• Team-oriented with an ability to build strong working relationships across the organization.
