Accountant – General Ledger

The immediate issues facing the successful candidate are knowing how to use general ledger systems, possessing good PC skills, and using the BPC package for HQ reporting. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to neatness and accuracy, have excellent communication skills and be able to produce under pressure. Due to the nature of this position, an applicant who is reliable and understands confidentiality issues would be best suited. Performance will be measured based on timeliness and accuracy of reporting, satisfaction of internal and external customers, and presentation of analysis (accuracy, conciseness, and organization). Opportunities for advancement and growth could be in financial and budget analysis or special projects.

What does an Accountant-GL do?

• Prepare journal entries and post-trial balance
• Prepare profit & loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements monthly
• Prepare and report financials in a timely to meet corporate reporting schedules
• Analyze and reconcile monthly key balance sheet items, including inventory
• Update and maintain standard costs and inventory system
• Audit cost accuracy and review all costing reports and make changes as required.
• Monitor ongoing cycle count program
• Gather data for income tax filing, foreign tax package and audit packages.
• Other related duties as required

What you bring to the table

• 4+ years related experience in medium to large company
• Proficiency in Excel and Word
• Solid knowledge in full cycle accounting
• University or college graduate or equivalent in Business or Accounting
• 5th level of CGA or CMA (preferred)
• Costing background (preferred)

Previous experience is required, but we are open to individuals with previous transferable skills such as: Accountant, sr. accountant, bookkeeper, accounting

Salary: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
