*Pay Range: $62,000 - $65,000 CAD annually
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accountant will assist in and be responsible for month-end close and related account analyses, reconciliations, roll forwards and reporting. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
MAIN DUTIES:
The Accountant will maintain and update accounting records and files, assist with monthly close processes by preparing monthly journal entries, analysis and account reconciliations, lead on all the accounting related to fixed assets such as creating fixed assets and running depreciation, and complete timely and accurate Fixed Assets, Asset Under Construction and other monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Additional duties include:
- Ensure adherence to fixed asset policy.
- Provide support to senior accountant on lease accounting reconciliation.
- Provide support for related party reconciliations
- Support annual property insurance submission.
- Support audit inquiries
- Support forecasts and budgets by providing analysis on depreciation.
- Perform special projects and prepare ad hoc financial analyses as required by management or requested by operations and finance teams.
- Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
- Report to the accounting manager and work to improve financial processes.
The ideal candidate will have an educational background in Accounting, Finance or equivalent, including thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). They will bring prior progressive experience in an accounting role and solid communication skills with ability to interact effectively with multiple contacts outside the department. Additional desired skills include:
- MS Dynamics 365 accounting software experience preferred.
- Intermediate use of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks.
- Good problem solving and time management skills.
- Well organized and detail-oriented with ability to prioritize various tasks to meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a demanding fast-paced environment and handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline driven department.

*The listed pay range represents the lowest to highest range that we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The benefits for eligible part-time employees working 25 or more hours per week and full-time employees in the US include a comprehensive package of health, retirement, and insurance benefits and paid time off.
