Accounting Lead
Muskoka Timber Mills, Bracebridge, ON is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage specific aspects of our finances and bookkeeping. Your responsibilities will include tracking our organization’s revenue, expenses, and taxes, as well as producing financial reports. You will be responsible for inputting transactions, journal entries, and other administrative tasks related to our process.
Responsibilities
Below are some of the responsibilities a Financial Administrator is expected to assume in their position:
- Prepare accounting records by compiling and analyzing account information
- Reconcile company's financial records to help ensure accuracy of financial statements
- Ensure A/R reporting and follow up are done in a timely manner.
- Oversee all aspects of A/P
- Participate in the annual budgeting process
- Support the preparation of tax returns for businesses and individuals
- Post financial transactions to accounts and prepare financial statements
- Study financial trends to determine future business needs
- Complete bank reconciliations on a weekly basis
- Coordinate payroll process with 3rd-party provider
Qualifications
Below are the qualifications expected of an experienced Financial Administrator:
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in accounting, business, or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and accounting systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook), with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks; experience with other tax preparation and accounting software
- Analytical
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Self-starter
- Experience in working inside of an ERP environment or implementing ERP is a definite plus
Other details of the role:
- This is a in-office position, with some work from home possible on a pre-approved basis.
- Position is full-time, 40- hours per week
- Position starts with vacation at 15 days/year
