What YOU Will Do
The Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring that accounting and tax procedures are applied, and that tax, social security and closing deadlines are met for major projects. They are in charge of auditing accounts right through to the preparation of financial statements. They supervise and rely on an accounting team to carry out their tasks. They act under the supervision of the Administrative and Financial Director.
Main duties :
- Ensures compliance with accounting rules;
- Ensures compliance with internal rules;
- Ensures that all trial balance accounts are properly justified;
- Checks accounting entries in supplier/customer/employee subsidiary balances:
- Letters invoices;
- Checks allocation of amounts;
- Justifies debit balances;
- Monitors supplier payments on a weekly basis;
- Letters invoices;
- Controls and enters fixed asset entries (capitalization) and fixed asset maintenance;
- Accounts for and controls journal entry transactions;
- Prepares monthly cash flow reports;
- Prepares and transmits to the Finance and Administration Manager cash outflow forecasts based on :
- Supplier due dates;
- Specific payment requests from the project manager or superintendents;
- Social security and tax deadlines;
- Supplier due dates;
- Prepares bank reconciliation statements:
- Retrieves bank statements;
- Reconciles bank entries;
- Identifies anomalies and refers to superior;
- Retrieves bank statements;
- Checks end-of-period provisions (prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, inventory accounting, risk provisions, vacation pay provisions, etc.);
- Prepares tax returns (tax declarations, withholding taxes, etc.);
- Prepares monthly financial reports (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow);
- Supervises and organizes the activities of payables and general accountants (collection of validations and certifications, compliance with payment deadlines);
- Controls payroll and payroll entries;
- Manages relations with auditors.
What YOU Will Bring
- Hold the title of Chartered Professional Accountant of Quebec;
- Have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting;
- 5 to 10 years' experience in the accounting and financial professions;
- Accounting experience in the construction industry is an asset;
- Knowledge of the SAP system;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Excel;
- Demonstrate autonomy and thoroughness;
- Ability to anticipate and plan priority tasks.
