Trouw Nutrition - Companion Animal is hiring an Accounting/GL Specialist to join our team in Okotoks, AB.
You will oversee Financial Reporting-related General Ledger. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial statements for the Companion Animal division in Indianapolis, Indiana, handling general ledger tasks, preparing for year-end audits, and supporting budget and forecast activities with a focus on meeting tight deadlines.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
You're an experienced Accounting/General Ledger Specialist with a knack for understanding the bigger picture and eager to learn beyond the basics. We count on your expertise to be the backstage support for budgeting, forecasting, and the grand finale of the year-end audit. We’ll also call on your experience to tackle the labyrinth of intercompany account reconciliations.
- Understand Financial Reporting and General Ledger structure. Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes. Assist with daily Banking requirements
- Conduct monthly account reconciliations, including intercompany balancing. Timely reporting of financial information. Support budget and forecasting activities
- Troubleshoot Accounting system issues (M3 and OneStream)
- Monitor and improve General Ledger/Accounting procedures
- Ensure a clean and timely year-end audit
- Contribute to the development of new procedures. Provide training to staff as needed
PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA

- 5-10 years of Accounting/General Ledger experience
- Post secondary degree in Business or Business Administration with Accounting emphasis. CPA designation or progress towards it
- Proficient in ERP/CPM systems and MS Suite
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- People leadership skills and effective communication
- Bonus: Supervisory experience, ERP-M3/CPM-One Stream familiarity,
