The Role
DFM is looking for an Administrative Assistant to join their team. With an excellent employee retention rate, DFM has a compelling reputation within the agriculture and dairy industry.
Under the direction of the Corporate Services Coordinator, this is an in-office position where the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing exceptional support to the Corporate department and DFM. This role is ideal for an administrative professional who believes in customer service, is detail-oriented, and is a team player.
As the Administrative Assistant, you will:
● Answer phone calls and direct to appropriate staff.
● Receive DFM’s emails, faxes, and mail – and direct to appropriate staff.
● Greet and assist office visitors.
● Mail information to members and other industry partners as required.
● Compile information and enter data to create documents.
● Assist in preparation for company events and in-office meetings and activities.
● Organize and maintain inventory of supplies for the office, warehouse, kitchen/lunchroom, and of event materials.
● Proofread materials and verify information within the documents.
● File documents (electronically and paper).
● Take notes in Administrative Team meetings and record action items.
● Perform other administrative duties and responsibilities, including special projects, as may be assigned from time to time.
You and your experience:
● 1-2 years’ previous experience in an administrative role.
● Diploma or certificate from an Administrative Assistant program is an asset.
● Skilled in Microsoft Office 365.
● Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including a positive and friendly approach.
● Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic.
● Collaborative, organized, logical thinker with a strong ability to take initiative to manage priorities and adapt quickly to change.
● Fluent command of English with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong attention to detail.
● Understand and appreciate the nature of confidential information.
● Demonstrated experience in meeting deadlines without compromising accuracy and quality of work.
● A driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.
