The Director of Maple View Landings is the Administrator of Long-term Care Services for the United Counties of Leeds & Grenville, reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer. The Director will oversee direct care, contracts, facility/property management for all facets of the Maple View Lodge LTC home and the new Maple View Landings site.
Our client, the United Counties of Leeds & Grenville (UCLG), has an immediate need for a qualified administrator due to a forthcoming retirement. UCLG fronts on the St Lawrence River and the international boundary between Canada and the United States. It is comprised of 10 member municipalities and has a population of 99,306. Residents enjoy a high quality of life in this culturally rich and diverse region known for its historic and environmentally significant landmarks.

- An experienced healthcare leader with a background in long-Term Care and a genuine understanding of, and commitment to, the clients being served, respectful, open to others, able to access support and guide the development of staff skills and knowledge, who demonstrates a coaching approach, and builds commitment to the United Counties mission and values.
- A demonstrated ability to ensure programs, medical and direct Care Services are provided based in a focus on risk management, resident satisfaction and which fully supports resident rights.
- An operational knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Long-Term Care Homes Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc.)
- Demonstrated management skills, including problem solving, critical thinking, financial management and conflict resolution in a unionized environment.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability; sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills. Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills. A succinct and accurate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Master’s Degree in Business/Public Administration, Finance, Health Care Administration or a related field, or an equivalent degree supplemented by advanced healthcare management experience.
- Successful completion of a program in Long Term Care administration or enrollment in a program in Long Term Care home administration, as required by current Long-Term Care legislation.
- Professional Medical designation, Chartered Professional Accountant Designation, Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or formal project management training an asset.
- Minimum of 10 years senior management experience in a Long-Term Care or similar sector.
- Capacity to create an environment conducive to the well-being of the residents and staff.
