This is a contract position that is part time then will move to casual
WHAT WE OFFER
- 52.5 hours bi-weekly with the potential of more hours
- Shifts include: days, evenings and weekends
- Starting rate of pay is $21.55 then moves to $22.45 after 3 months!

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- You MUST have a Current Degree or Diploma OR be enrolled in Recreation and Leisure, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology or other related field from a community college or university in order for your application to be considered
- Preference will be given to individuals who have previous Long Term Care/Retirement Home experience
- Experience in Dementia care and Montessori Programs an asset
- An understanding of the needs and realities of the elderly, including matters of mobility and communication, such as Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementia
- Must have a sincere interest in people, the elderly in particular, and possess a genuine sensitivity to their needs
- Exceptional interpersonal skills

ABOUT MAPLE MANOR
Maple Manor Nursing Home, locally owned and operated, is a long-Term Care facility located in the downtown core of Tillsonburg Ontario. As such it is in close proximity to many churches, stores, doctors’ offices and our local hospital. The home is licensed by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and is Accredited through the Person-Centred Long Term Care Community Standards of CARF Canada. The Home is a 103-bed, smoke free facility offering private, semi-private and ward accommodations. In addition, Maple Manor has four temporary licenses for Interim Long-Term Care Home beds through the Aging at Home program. These beds provide a location for residents who would otherwise be kept in hospital while awaiting placement into a Long-Term Care facility.
The Home’s philosophy of care is centered on nurturing the human spirit. As such, we pledge to meet the individual needs of the clients using a resident-centered focus. Care and services for the residents are provided holistically such that their physical, spiritual, emotional and intellectual needs are met to the best of our abilities.
