Caressant Care is seeking an Activity Aide to join our accomplished team of professionals at our 116-bed long term care home in St. Thomas, Ontario.
Job Summary: The Activity Aide assists the Activity Director in the provision of meaningful activities to meet the assessed physical, psychological, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of the residents.
Skills and Knowledge required:
- Must have a post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or other related field from community college and university or must be enrolled in a community college or university in a diploma or degree program in such a field.
- Must be proficient I Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Point Click care and Activity Pro.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates in the assessment and re-assessment of activity needs of the activities based on their interests and capabilities in order to maintain and develop suitable programming for the residents.
- Facilitates activity programs under the direction of the Activity Director. Assists in planning of programs of sufficient variety to meet resident's needs.
- Assists the Activity Director in care of equipment and supplies.
This is a part-time permanent position, rate of pay $25.28/hour. The successful candidate will require a current Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Screening.
