Job Summary

The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is the Province of BC's primary emergency response organization. It operates year-round to deliver its mandate for wildfire management and response to natural hazard emergencies. The BCWS operates provincially, delivering services through six fire centres, thirty-three zones and two provincial centres in Kamloops and Victoria.
The Project Management Analyst manages a medium-term project or several smaller scope projects with significant internal impact to the business. Accountable for defining and controlling all project activities to ensure delivery within scope, schedule, budget and specified quality. These positions will specifically support the Wildfire One project, an IT transformational initiative designed to create better situational awareness within BCWS, improve business process, resource management, comms, payroll, and much more.

Job Requirements:
• Degree in business administration or public administration, and one (1) or more years' experience working in business or public administration; OR,
• Degree in a resource management related field (e.g., Forestry, Geography, or Natural Resource Management) and one (1) or more years' experience working in a natural resource discipline; OR,
• Diploma in business administration or public administration, and two (2) or more years' experience working in business or public administration; OR,
• Diploma in a resource management related field (e.g., Forestry, Geography, or Natural Resource Management) and two (2) years experience working in a natural resource discipline; OR,
• An equivalent combination of education/training and four (4) related experience working in a business/public administration or natural resources discipline may be considered.
• One (1) year experience managing projects and/or leading components (e.g. sub-project) of a large-scale project or initiative.
• One (1) year experience in directing the work of contracted and staff resources.
• Formal training in Project Management.
Preference may be given to applicants with one or more the following:
• Experience working collaboratively with various interested parties and/or partners.
• Experience working in software development projects.
