BPL is changing to continue to meet the needs of our highly diverse community, with an increased emphasis on community-led approaches and connecting with people outside the library, a greater focus on digital literacy, and a commitment to upgrading and rethinking our public and staff spaces.

  • You will keep up-to-date on emerging service design and programming trends, and community needs.
  • You will participate in providing reference, readers’ advisory, technical assistance, and customer service at one of the library’s information desks approximately once a week.

  • Able to identify community needs and to design, deliver and evaluate services, programs, and community initiatives that respond to those needs.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and implementation of change-related organizational initiatives.
  • Able to work effectively with a wide range of community members as well as internal and external partners.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Able to work well both in team settings and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in or an aptitude for supervision and leadership, including communication and conflict management, coaching, problem-solving, planning and coordination.
