Agriculture Sciences Laboratory Technician

Lakeland College is currently accepting applications for the position of Laboratory Technician within the School of Agriculture Sciences. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive support to both faculty and students participating in the Animal Science and Crop Technology programs.

Key Responsibilities:

· Facilitate laboratory sessions by assisting in their setup and subsequent cleanup.

· Organize and manage plant specimens and animals to ensure a conducive learning environment.

· Demonstrate a commitment to the upkeep of laboratory facilities and equipment.

· Collaborate closely with faculty and students, providing valuable support in a laboratory setting.

· Maintain equipment logs and detailed animal records.

Job Requirements:

· Possess a Diploma in Animal Science, Crop Technology, or a closely related field of study.

· Accumulate a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience.

· Exhibit the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

· Showcase exceptional organizational and time management skills.

· Demonstrate practical experience in working with livestock.

· Possess knowledge of farm equipment operation.

· Display proficiency in computer skills.

This is a full-time, permanent AUPE position, based at the Vermilion campus, with a commencement date of February 1, 2024. The current salary range is $50,198 - $63,259, along with a generous benefits package and pension plan. The selected candidate's salary will align with their education and relevant experience.
