We are seeking a self-motivated individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for providing support in a dynamic environment to join our team as an Analyst in Ability Management. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting Ability Management Advisors and providing assistance in the day-to-day operations of the team. Your main duties will include managing claims and generating reports for the manager. As an analyst, you will also be expected to work independently to support stakeholders in various functional areas of Ability Management.
Description:
This position is responsible for managing the referral process, following up with employees and managers, and discussing and reviewing contractual benefit provisions for short-term disability applications. Proficiency in charting is required, as is the ability to manage issues according to policy and procedure. You will also be responsible for monitoring the status of medical leaves, submitting requests to program assistants for short-term and long-term disability, and proactively communicating with various stakeholders. Additionally, you will discuss accommodation strategies and develop return-to-work plans based on employer restrictions and limitations, coordinating with the insurance carrier and monitoring CPP status and contractual provisions with employees. This position plays a key role in supporting a customer service focus by developing effective relationships with stakeholders and following up with employees to ensure their needs are met in a timely and professional manner. Other responsibilities include assisting in covering program assistance and troubleshooting for time, coding, LOA, and escalation.

A minimum Disability Management Diploma or equivalent education, along with a minimum of two years' experience in case or claims management.
Additional Required Qualifications:Knowledge of STD and LTD eligibility and application processes. Considerable knowledge and expertise in benefits administration and payroll calculations. General knowledge & awareness of Ability Management Programs & processes. Competence with using human resources management system software. Competence in the use of Microsoft Office products. Competence in the use of word processing, spreadsheets and database programs. Considerable knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment. Knowledge of data entry and word processing. Excellent communication/interpersonal/organizational skills. Excellent formatting, grammar and proofreading skills. Ability to complete duties with numerous interruptions. Ability to prioritize and balance workload. Ability to handle incoming phone calls courteously and effectively. Ability to be an effective team member. Ability to be flexible and willing to learn new concepts. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Must have good command of the English language.
Preferred Qualifications:A related Degree from a post-secondary institution is preferred. Additionally, two years of related experience working in Ability Management, a healthcare setting, or with large employers in unionized environments is preferred. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is an asset.
