Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst with exceptional data analytical capabilities, adept at translating complex financial information into actionable insights, and possessing strong interpersonal skills to foster productive relationships with business partners. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in driving informed decision-making and strategic initiatives within our organization.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Financial Analyst, your role is to provide financial analysis support for Central Operations. Reporting to the Snr. Manager, Finance Business Partner Central Canada. You will support your customers by anticipating needs of the business and providing strategies to support decision making.
You will partner with your client in supporting the business utilizing your extensive expertise in financial analysis, reporting and planning:
- Supports Western Canada and various Initiatives by providing financial expertise and analysis to support business decisions.
- Participate in month-end closing activities for the region.
- Tracks performance against budget, prior year and forecast. Identifies variances to actual results. Understands cost drivers, supports problem solving and develops recommendations.
- Generate analytics on performance, identifying problems, and initiating process improvement suggestions, provide financial and business-related analysis to assess the impact of various projects.
- Participates in the preparation of Adhoc. presentations & reporting as required.
- Provide monthly reporting to each area of the business supported; track and report on KPI's providing insight on change.
- Prepare various models for annual operating budgets for designated divisions in Western Canada.
- Maintenance of Owner Operator Management database & monthly reporting.
- Supports the development, implementation and reporting of internal processes and controls Provides data to assist management to develop action plans to improve profitability.
- Create capital requests and support business case creation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Finance; an accounting designation or working towards one is preferred.
- 2 to 5 years financial analysis experience and business acumen.
- Proven Analytical skills required.
- Positive attitude & must be a team player.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Able to build and maintain effective relationships at every level of the organization
- Thrive in a challenging environment with the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple requests/responsibilities.
- Ability to prepare and present financial information in written and verbal format to non-financial individuals.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), knowledge of SAP S/4 Hana is an asset.
- Knowledge of the courier / transportation industry is an asset.
- Adaptable to change and effectively tackle shifting priorities.
