Function Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Reporting & External Audit, the main responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
Assisting in the preparation of monthly reports based on internal and external requirements. This accountability extends to the Boards of Trustees and / or Governance Committees of all the Entities under the Bruyère umbrella, namely Bruyère Continuing Care, Bruyère Research Institute, Bruyère Foundation, Geriatric Psychiatry Community Services of Ottawa, Bruyère Academic Medical Organization, Bruyère Family Medicine Program and Champlain Hospice Palliative Care Program
Provision of support in the preparation of the year-end audit files and process for all the entities under the Bruyère umbrella
Assisting in the preparation of the mandatory quarterly submissions to Ontario Health and to Ministry of Health (MOH)
Facilitating the preparation of the year-end Hospital Consolidation Reporting
Committing to living the Mission and Values of Bruyère.
Committing to patient and resident safety, on-going learning and continuous quality improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or Business Administration
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a related field
- Knowledge of general accounting, management information system (MIS / OHRS) guidelines, hospital organizational structures
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and financial systems
- Professional designation as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
- Fluent in French and English
- Advanced analytical and synthesis skills
- Demonstrated initiative and autonomy
- Organizational skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Superior ability to organize, analyze and evaluate data, both quantitatively and qualitatively
- Good knowledge of large computerized Financial reporting systems
- MIS guidelines (Ontario Health Reporting System)
- Knowledge of hospital services / programs
- Knowledge of hospital accounts and organizational structure
- Superior knowledge of Excel or equivalent analytical and reporting tools
- Good verbal and written skills
- Knowledge of accounting principles.
- Familiarity with working in an organization with multiple accounting entities
- Hands on in-depth financial, accounting and audit analysis
