Scope
Reporting to the IT Business Applications Manager we are seeking an Application Analyst 1 with a focus on configuring and supporting industry-leading business applications. This role is ideal for a technical person who thrives in a progressive IT environment, values innovation and enjoys a healthy work/life balance .
Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, the successful candidate: Performs analysis, design, development, implementation, documentation and maintenance of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom software applications used by the City’s business areas. Assists in research and fact-finding, helping to formulate and define the scope and objectives of business systems within the city. Completes work assignments and reacts to situations and problems by taking action and balancing priorities. Ensures deliverables adhere to quality control standards. Provides troubleshooting assistance and end-user support to our clients. Communicates effectively both orally and in writing. Works well in a team setting supporting our collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
Degree in a related field from a recognized institution plus one year related experience or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
Completion of a Police Information Check.
Related experience includes:
Experience in all phases of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) from analysis, design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance.
Experience coding and modifying SOAP and REST API’s.
Experience developing database objects like Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages and Triggers using SQL and/or PL/SQL.
Experience in ETL techniques and analysis and reporting including hands on experience with reporting tools such as Cognos is considered and asset.
Experience with ERP software within the municipal space (such as permitting and land development, financial management, licensing, public asset & work management) is considered an asset.
