The Aquatics Office Assistant performs administrative functions for aquatic activities and programs, greeting patrons, selling and renewing passes, program registration, scheduling, and cash handling at the front desk. Combination of daytime, evening and weekend hours. Assignments are usually received with general guidelines and require the ability to work independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs the tasks necessary to provide customer service and administrative support at an aquatic facility.
Responds to patron inquiries about programs and schedules, in person, by phone, and email.
Maintains cleanliness and organization of swim window desk and counter.
Supports Lifeguard Staff in responding to emergency situations (certification not necessary)
Assisting the Aquatics Manager with scheduling staff
Comfortable using technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, social media apps and point of sale technology.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with those contacted in the course of work at all levels, including a culturally diverse public.
Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Combination of sitting, standing, light lifting, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing/pulling, grasping, reaching
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Post secondary diploma/certificate in office administration an asset.
· Proficient use of Microsoft office
· Customer service and cash handling skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication
· Marketing and promotions experience an asset.
· Intermediate first aid an asset, training can be provided.
· Flexibility to work non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends and some holidays)
· Aquatics experience an asset, but not necessary.
· Clear criminal record check
**Please note, this is a full-time term position with the possibility of extension. Hiring will be dependent on funding approval. Applicants must be eligible to apply for the START program.
