Job description
Position: Assistant Food & Beverage Manager
JOB OVERVIEW: This position plays a key role within our hotel. To maximize guest satisfaction and hotel profitability by ensuring that food & beverage operations are functioning successfully and profitably. This includes supporting and supervising FOH staff while on duty, as well as maintaining an organized internal operation. This person will assist and support the Food and Beverage Manager in achieving their operational objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Act as a FOH service leader by demonstrating exceptional guest service standards and supporting the FOH service staff on the floor at all times when on duty
- Help create and implement creative beverage menus in all outlets including banquets
- Ensure that banquet BEOs are executed correctly and in a effective manner to drive revenues and profit, but equally guest satisfaction
- Assist leadership with human resources, including but not limited to recruitment, training, coaching, scheduling, payroll and other duties
- Maximize guest satisfaction and hotel profitability by ensuring that Food & Beverage services, outlets and operations are functioning in the most optimal manner possible
- Improve and maintain service-related internal administration systems to further benefit the department
- Oversee FOH staff during daily operations of all Food and Beverage outlets and ensure guest satisfaction
- Assist in identifying ways of increasing Food and Beverage revenue
- Maintain service standards set by the General Manager and Hilton Brand Standards
- Maintain daily cash balance of F&B Petty Cash, floats, and Drop Safe
- Help create weekly FOH staff schedules
- Oversee cleaning schedules and checklists within the department
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering and weekly inventory counts
- Implement and continuously conduct staff training to improve service levels within the department
- Communicate and work with all departments to ensure that every guest receives excellent service
- Manage reservations for all F&B outlets
- Other duties as required
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory role.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and complete work assignments.
- Familiarity with various POS systems
- Strong leadership skills including ability to problem solve, motivate staff and exude excellent guest service practices at all times.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment and handle stress effectively.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Strong competency in Excel, and other Microsoft interfaces is an asset.
- Strong banquet experience is essential for this role
- Knowledge of costing, pricing, and menu construction an asset; as well as awareness of current industry trends.
- The ability to work effectively at different times of the day based on business levels and events at the hotel

Salary: From $22.00 per hour
