CLS Landscape Supply is one of Calgary's largest landscape supply centers, and we are looking to hire an Assistant Manager for the 2024 season at our NW Calgary location.

Position: Full-time, permanent.
Responsibilities:
Customer Service and Sales
- Become familiar with all products that CLS carries, how these products relate to each other, and how they are incorporated into a landscape project
- Create a rapport with customers and provide a welcoming and helpful experience to all
- Assist customers in selecting the right landscape supplies for their needs
- Provide expert advice on product features, applications, and usage
- Resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly
- Aid in quote generation and customer follow up
Team Management
- Educate new team members on the products and services that CLS offers
- Train new staff members on the usage of internal programs
- Provide assistance and feedback to team members
- Arrange and publish schedules for all retail team members two weeks in advance
- Assist your team in hitting sales targets for the 2024 year
Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team
- Conduct regular stock checks and inventory counts
- Monitor stock levels in the garden centre to ensure sufficient product offerings
Operational Excellence
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement operational improvements
- Ensure CLS has a clean and organized office to facilitate the movement of landscape supplies
- Ensure that safe work practices are applied to all aspects of your job
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Strengths and Skills of Ideal Candidates:
- Customer service skills - 3 year preferred
- Experience in landscaping, construction, or gardening is beneficial though not required
- Must have reliable transportation as we are not located on transit lines
- Must be proficient in both written and verbal communication in English
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently towards goals
- Money handling and counting skills
- Math skills are beneficial, though resources exist to aid in calculations. Math is an integral part of every transaction we complete, so attention to detail is very important
- Must be able to work up to a 10-hour shifts in a construction-like environment (hazards present include insects, dust, debris, loud noises, heavy equipment operation, and exposure to the elements when working outside)
- Able to lift and carry weight up to 50 lbs

Salary: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 50 per week
