Compensation:
Circa $57,000 CAD Annualized
This job will work from Mar 15th - Nov 2nd 2024 and is a seasonal position

What will you do in this job?:
  • Assist in managing day-to-day operations of the Golden Skybridge.
  • Identify and manage risk, display the ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally.
  • Providing our guests and team with an outstanding experience, while maintain a safe work environment.
  • Set high standards for safety and facilitation for Golden Skybridge Challenge Course, Zip line and bridges aligned with best industry practices.
  • Oversea daily safety inspections of all attractions.
  • Responsible for documentation of incident/near miss reporting.
  • Manage Adventure Guide staffing schedule & oversea building & grounds scheduling
  • Assist in training staff on all aspects of the attractions as well as conduct skills verification and maintaining training program
  • Lead seasonal professional development training as needed or requested by Operations manager.
  • Collaborate with Operations manager and operations supervisors to create Personal Improvement Plans for staff that do not pass skills verification exams and/or demonstrations, or show signs of low performance/safety standards.
  • Provide staff with up-to-date Standard Operation Procedures.
  • Assist with any necessary rescues on the attractions.
  • Assist with performance management of Adventure guides and Building & Grounds Teams
  • Carry out 1on1’s with operations Supervisors
  • Assist with onboarding of new staff
  • Ensure B&G supervisor supply ordering is completed
  • Carry out Payroll for Adventure Guides and oversea Building & Grounds
  • Take initiative to solve any issues that may arise and exercise excellent judgment.
  • Ensure all safety standards are met.
  • Display professional leadership; interact with guests in a humorous, engaging, and friendly manner while providing a safe and exhilarating experience.
  • Greet guests promptly and enthusiastically in a warm and professional manner.
  • Maintain our proactive safety culture via reporting gear, course, or personal concerns/infractions to management.
  • Organise daily morning meetings for Adventure Team Leads & Supervisors
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and technical protocols at all times.
  • Perform supervisor, guide and bridge monitor duties as required.
  • Ensuring adherence of operations to Pursuit policies and procedures.
  • Carryout interviews and recruit for Adventure Guides and Building & Grounds
  • Reports directly to the Operations Manager.
  • Act as the manager on duty - take charge of the Golden Skybridge Operation when required.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with group clients, suppliers and other Golden Skybridge departments.
  • Actively participate in Golden Skybridge committees (Green Team, Health & Safety Committee, Fun Committee)
  • Other duties as required.
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
  • Work experience in the customer service and / or adventure tourism industry.
  • Post-secondary education in Tourism, Business or Recreation is an asset.
  • Must be 19 years or older.
  • Valid 80-hour first aid. Wilderness or OFA preferred.
  • Knowledge of zipline and challenge course equipment and course infrastructure an asset
  • Proficient in all course elements, emergency procedures and wildlife awareness.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, productive environment with constant change.
  • A self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong physical stamina and conditioning.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. and work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Experience facilitating groups of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
  • One year or more of experience in: customer service, staff supervision and staff training.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
