Boldt Pools and Spas is looking to improve our retail team by hiring a new Assistant Manager to help lead our seasonal staff in the fast-paced environment of the swimming pool industry. We are looking for an energetic personality that can rally our team and galvanize our workplace. They will work with the Retail Manager to identify concerns from employees and customers on how to improve our day-to-day operations in the store and the best course of action on finding solutions to those concerns. Covering shifts and breaks where and when it is necessary and generally leading by example with quality customer service.
We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible, to provide the necessary training and preparation required to succeed in the workplace when the pool season begins in the Spring. The Assistant Manager will also assist in the training and the interviewing of potential new staff, as well as being responsible for opening and closing procedure and other keyholder-related duties. This is a permanent, full-time position with tasks that will vary, depending on the time of year. Candidates will succeed in this role by being able to work independently and in a team, work in a sometimes chaotic and fast-paced environment and always be open to learning something new.

Responsibilities:
- Day to day operations of the Retail Store.
- Opening and Closing tasks.
- Holiday and Weekend availability where needed.
- Keyholder status – locking and unlocking store and warehouses at the beginning/end of each day.
- Train and supervise seasonal retail staff – Keeping on task, assigning duties and tasks as required, ensuring retail staff are providing excellent customer service. Maintaining a positive energy to motivate the workforce.
- Informing Retail Manager of concerns from both employees and customers and assisting in finding solutions to those concerns.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring and training new retail employees.
- Ensure the store is clean, organized and well-stocked at all times.
- Maintain a safe and secure working environment for both employees and customers.
- Other tasks as required.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a Retail setting, and ideally experience in a leadership position.
- Experience in the Pool and Spa Industry an asset but not required. Training will be provided.
- Able to work independently and in a team.
- Able to move and carry merchandise up to 50lbs.
- Positive attitude and leadership skills.
- Professional phone etiquette.
- Punctual, with a strong work ethic and a focus on customer service.
- Enjoys challenges and open to learning new things.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
