The successful candidate will join our team in representing family law clients in matters such as child custody, divorce, support, property division, family violence, and others. Associates at Atticus Legal have full conduct of their own files and work under the mentorship of the senior team. Opportunities to expand the associate’s practice area are available.
Atticus Legal is an entirely result-oriented workplace. Associates are expected to achieve their billings target but are free to set their own schedule and manage their workflow in whatever way works best for them. It is Atticus’s responsibility to generate enough files that associates will be able to easily reach their billings target, and to provide enough mentorship that associates will achieve success in the conduct of their files without straying too far out of their comfort zones in doing so. The minimum billing target for associates at Atticus amounts to approximately 4.2 billable hours per day, 5 days per week.
Our office culture is relaxed with respect to in-office attire and schedule as long as the lawyer maintains professionalism in the discharge of their duty to our clients. The firm promotes work-life balance, teamwork and camaraderie among associates and staff. Non-mandatory social events are hosted frequently. Attractive individual offices are provided to associates, including a budget for the associate to decorate their office.

Compensation starts at approximately $100,000.00 per year, regardless of year of call. Atticus also provides all support staff, all necessary textbooks and resource material, free CPD opportunities, and pays half of Law Society practice and indemnity fees. Parking spaces are provided for motor vehicle commuters; and lockers, a secure bicycle storage facility, and showers are provided for cyclist commuters.
Applicants must be members in good standing of the Law Society of the British Columbia. Applicants with pending applications to the Law Society are also welcome to apply, although any employment offer will be contingent upon accreditation. Applications submitted without a cover letter will not be considered.
