The Early Childhood Educator Registry (Registry) is the legislated authority responsible for the certification of Early Childhood Educators (ECE) and ECE Assistants, the investigation of complaints regarding the competence and conduct of ECEs and ECE Assistants and the assessment and recommended approval of post-secondary early childhood education programs in British Columbia (BC).
The Manager of Post Secondary is responsible for leading Registry staff in the assessment of post- secondary early childhood education programs in British Columbia. This team plays a key role in supporting the work of the ECE Registry which is responsible, under the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, for the following related to recognized early childhood education programs in BC.
You monitor performance and provide feedback, coaching and mentoring as needed. Highly organized and detail oriented, you are a natural problem solver and an analytical thinker. If you can work independently but successfully establish and maintain links to staff and outside agencies and are ready for an exciting new challenge, we encourage your application.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field (such as Child Development, Child and Youth Care, Social Work orEducation) plus the following recent (within the last 5 years), related experience:
    • 3 years' supervising, leading and mentoring staff.
    • 3 years' working in the early care and learning sector.
    • 3 years' applying policies, procedures and legislation.
    • 2 years' dealing with complex emergent stakeholder/partner interests and issues management.
    • 1 year teaching at a post-secondary institution and/or supervising faculty in a post-secondary institution.
    • 1 year developing and evaluating post-secondary competency-based curriculum.

Preference May Be Given To Applicants With:
  • Valid Early Childhood Educator certification in BC (or eligibility to hold).
  • Experience working in the Child Care Division.
  • Experience working in a professional regulation and/or regulatory role,monitoring compliance and taking enforcement action.
  • Post-graduate degree in a relevant field (such as Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Child and Youth Care orEducation)
