Job Profile
The Banquet Server delivers outstanding service and operations for the banquet department. This position serves food and beverages to guests and exceeds guest expectations providing excellent guest service. The Banquet Server engages the guest in accordance with Delta standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greeting guests, collect tickets and control guest flow
- Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of the menu to receive and deliver guest food and drink orders at hotel banquets, breakfast, luncheons, dinners and receptions.
- May assist Guest with placement of event materials and/or other favors at Guest place settings of seat
- Sets the tables and buffets, planning linen, plates, silverware, glassware and accoutrements
- Replenishes food and refreshments during the event
- Maintains all buffets and cleaning of the event and pre-busses tables and buffets
- Transports dirty trays with plates to stewarding
- Assists with clean-up after a function including miscellaneous items remaining in an event area at conclusion of events
- Maintains assigned service station, including the clearing of cocktail barware from tables to bus stands
- Assigned side work as necessary such as polishing silverware, folding/rolling napkins, filling condiment caddies, sets up all side stations and buffets are properly completed
- Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs
Qualifications
- Serving it right certification required
- Food safe certificate required
- Super host certification an asset
- Possess a positive attitude and works well with other team members
- Possesses a professional image
- Excellent guest service skills, desire to meet and exceed guest expectations
- Excellent command of the English language- written and verbal. Other languages an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work as part of a team
- Physically fit; lifting and moving quickly is a mandatory part of this position
- Must be willing to work in Kamloops, BC
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Physical requirements
- Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, stoop and lift to 50 pounds
- Constant standing and walking for a minimum of 4 hours at one time
- Balance a tray of up to 20lbs while walking
- Occasional ascending or descending flights of stairs
