As a leader in the continuous innovation of our programs, systems, processes and service delivery, our Business Analyst will apply their strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to understand, interpret and translate complex business needs and data to recommend business and technology solutions. You will take initiative to investigate and understand all aspects of our business, data workflows, new and existing technologies, emerging trends and best practices and apply this knowledge to recommend new business models and service improvements. You will build effective relationships with our business and technical teams, and represent WorkplaceNL in liaising with stakeholders, clients, health care providers and vendors.
You will provide business analysis services to support, coordinate and drive forward projects and organizational priorities, providing you with the opportunity to work on a diverse range of strategic or operational projects and initiatives.
Role Responsibilities
- Extract, analyze and use data to draft reports to develop insights and make recommendations to assist strategic and operational decision-making
- Use data to create reports, dashboards and business cases.
- Work with business leaders, subject matter experts and vendor staff to elicit, translate and document business requirements. This includes preparing workflow diagrams, use case documents and performing fit/gap analysis.
- Coordinate project activities, participate in or lead testing and change management efforts, and support project governance activities.
- Supports quality assurance and quality control efforts related to WorkplaceNL programs, services and standards.
- University degree, preferably in the area of business, including or augmented by formal training in computer sciences or business systems.
- Demonstrated experience working in a business analysis capacity with experience in business analytic tools and computer applications (e.g. advanced functions of Excel).
- Experience in project coordination or project management and working on technology projects are considered assets.
- Knowledge of project management standards and practices.
- Effective verbal, written and listening communication skills.
- Strong research, analytical, problem solving, critical thinking skills and sound judgement skills.
- Outstanding leadership, relationship-building, team work and motivation skills.
- Providing timely, articulate and insightful analytics to support business and systems decisions and solutions.

- Building relationships across the organization and adding your expertise, experience and knowledge to contribute to successful WorkplaceNL programs, services and projects.
- Contributes to the continuous innovation of the business analytic function by staying current with trends and providing recommendations on new and emerging toolsets.
