What is the opportunity?
RBC (Barbados) Service Company Limited has a vacancy for a Business Analyst and Quality Assurance Engineer. The Business Analyst & QA Engineer is responsible for Quality Assurance processes, methodologies, and test strategy, improvements and is accountable for driving quality by championing defect prevention/early defect detection. This position is a collaborative role providing support (IT, Operations and Business stakeholders) for analysis and research into our data structure, maintenance, performance, and technical modelling. You will be expected to assess, research, and resolve system issues and contribute to the development of new technology solutions that meet sponsor/stakeholder needs. You will also play a key role in issue management and remediation by investigating data quality issues through root cause analysis and working with stakeholders to find a solution. You will be accountable for maximizing test coverage and using business analysis techniques to optimize testing activities. You will conduct Requirements Analysis by holding meetings with stakeholders to understand the requirements fully, interpret these requirements to present them in easy-to-understand business terms. You will also be responsible for Conducting Feasibility Analysis on major projects and understanding whether the requirements are feasible to be executed considering the organizational resources.
What will you do?
- Ensure new technology solutions meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance that meet sponsor/stakeholder needs.
- Develop and Execute test plans for ecosystem/program/large projects (might assume planning execution accountability)
- Maintain a high level of data quality through rigorous analysis and auditing of all data used in reporting to identify improvement opportunities.
- Drive the correct non-functional test activities in projects/programs.
- Work with others in the source application areas and on the business side to deliver data-oriented solutions.
- Work with Associate Director and developers to ensure that all aspects of the technology systems undergo thorough testing and exhibit overall system reliability, performance and quality.
- Improve test ability, create and automate test cases, and identify and report defects.
- Co-ordinate testing of data -Use all available data to provide feedback to continually test that the correct quality checks are in place.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- BS/BA degree with a concentration in Business analysis, Actuarial Studies, Computer Science, or Information Systems
- Total QA and Business Analyst experience of at least 4 years, 2 of which involve performing data Quality Assurance and systems or business analysis on at least medium sized projects.
- Strong experience working within a QA team, creating test cases.
- Strong Analytical skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Experience with SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, Python, C#, VBA, VB.net
Nice to have
- Certifications: Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA) and Certified Software Tester (CSTE)
