Heidelberg Materials is looking for a Business Manager, Cement to join the team. The Business Manager, Cement is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and reports directly to the VP of Finance.
What you’ll get to do:
- Provide financial planning, capital planning, reporting, and forecasting for the Cement Operations business line
- Monitor and analyze operating results against budget and past performance and provide senior management with high-level reports, ad-hoc analysis, and interpretation of performance
- Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating results and action to increase profitability and enhance long-term return on investment
- Pro-actively engage in the review and/or preparation of CapEx projects and develop financial models for business development projects; track capital project spending and timing against forecasts and budget to understand and report variance
- Assist in developing strategic plans to achieve organizational objectives and ensure the safeguard of assets through the establishment and adherence to effective controls and procedures
- Responsible for the preparation of standard reporting packages and presentations for submission to Corporate and Group
- Work closely with Corporate Shared Service organizations, plant accountants and the cement sales analyst, ensuring efficient and effective financial processes in compliance with all policies, reporting requirements, and information requests
- Develop relationships and acts as resource to organizational business leaders
Essential Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- Accounting Designation (CPA)
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles within a manufacturing company
- Current knowledge of accounting, management accounting, financial processes, and controls
- Capability to develop and apply financial models to support Capital and operating investments
- Strong capability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- SAP system experience in a manufacturing environment
- Hyperion Planning
- Reporting (e.g., Essbase) and Analytical tools (e.g., Business Intelligence)
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Master’s degree
- Cement accounting experience
- Essbase
