Role Overview:

Cognizant is in search of a seasoned Business Analyst from Insurance Domain. The ideal candidate should possess experience in all aspects of a traditional Business Analyst's role, along with a comprehensive understanding of open systems architecture. This includes integrations with vendor packages, relational databases, message queues, web services, and legacy systems. As a Business Analyst will be responsible for planning and facilitating user acceptance testing. Additionally, you will assist in the development of training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users.

What You'll Do:

• Requirements Gathering through direct user interviews as well as formal and informal sessions.
• Analyzing System & Functional Specification.
• Facilitate Joint Application Design (JAD) Sessions with business users and development team to drive out detailed business requirements.
• Identify and translate business needs into clearly defined requirements for insurance policy administration projects.
• Develop requirements documentation inclusive of user stories/ use cases, process flows, data flows and report mock-ups.
• Plan, facilitate, and conduct requirements gathering sessions, meetings, and presentations.
• Build strong relationships within the business units and support functions to understand the business needs.
• Work with project collaborators during project definition to help the team understand risks, dependencies, and opportunities; participate in requirements definition and review; lend subject matter expertise to projects.
• Ensure that proposed solutions are focused on improving efficiency and effectiveness of the business processes and are consistent across products where possible.

What You Bring to the Role:

• Lead, analyze, document, and handle requirements with customers by applying a variety of techniques to probe, elicit, challenge, understand, and gain consensus on requirements.
• Identify, document, and validate current state processes and support partners to design the desired future state; provide recommendations and/or direction based on the end-to-end customer experience when making decisions.
• Ensure business processes/systems impacted by requirements are analyzed and the acceptance criteria clearly demonstrates the changes to business process/systems to meet customer needs.
• Ensure requirements-related dependencies and constraints are documented by bridging the communication between business and technology partners.
• Handle the traceability of business requirements.
• Leverage specialized domain, product, and systems knowledge to have a thorough understanding of the business, product, and vision; provide business/product domain expertise as well as recognize and drive the focus toward business value.
• Promote innovation by applying domain expertise to generate forward thinking ideas as well as critical thinking to find opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure timely notification and customer concern of possible issues/problems while assessing options and recommendations for prompt resolution.
• Identify, document, and actively run material risks and issues, bringing up to appropriate leadership when necessary to ensure the timely and unimpeded progress of work.
• Promptly lead concerns from collaborators and ensure timely and effective problem resolution.
• Must have Web Apps experience.
• Good to have .net and Azure experience.

Working arrangements:

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a Hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON. Canada. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a balanced work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.
