Wood is currently recruiting for a full-time Junior CAD Designerto support our Consulting business in Calgary, AB. The ideal candidate will have between 2 to 5 years experience, a can-do attitude, strong communication skills, and be detail oriented.
This is an exciting time to be joining Wood as the Products business is looking to double their revenue by 2026. The successful candidate will work with a dynamic and growing team who uses their technical expertise to solve some of the world’s toughest vibration issues.
- Maintaining our significant database of 3D models and product drawings
- Following engineering processes for product design changes
- New product and component design
- Optimizing 3D model automations and tree structures
- Assisting with product testing and instrumentation which includes:
- Preparing test rigs with products, some manual lifting required
- Configuring equipment and sensors for applicable test
- Performing tests and recording results
- Communicating testing and results into technical report
- Preparing orders for shipment
- Assist in the quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) process
- Document and assist to rectify any non-conformances on manufactured products
- Ability to work under supervision of engineers
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to identify, prioritize, and manage workload to meet deadlines
- Classify, organize, and file drawings electronically
- Assist in creation of technical documentation including product manuals, cutsheets, etc.
- Produce high-quality engineering drawings in an accurate and efficient manner
- Check engineering design documents including drawings, sketches, and change notices
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology required
- 2-5 years of experience using CAD or Solidworks in a professional environment
- VBA experience a strong asset
- Proficient in Solidworks, AutoCAD or Spaceclaim
- Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs
- Excellent communication (both written and spoken) and relationship-building skills. Must be able to engage and interact with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Have a demonstrated track record of self-management and team work
- Effective/competent MS Office Suite User and learning internal Wood software
- Must be Canadian Citizen or authorized to work lawfully in Canada, without sponsorship from Wood
