Summer Camp Counsellors
Position Overview
The Camp Counsellor is responsible for providing camp participants with a fun, safe and inclusive day camp
experience. Working independently and as part of a collaborative team, the Camp Counsellor will develop
and deliver daily and weekly programming, provide effective supervision of campers under his/her care and
will ensure adherence to and effective communication of all established policies and procedures. Before
applying and completing the application form, please review the criteria listed below to determine if you are
eligible to be considered for summer student employment. To be deemed eligible you must be:
- between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment*;
- a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in
Start Date(s) & Hours per Week
- Summer Camp: Eight consecutive weeks, commencing July 2, 2024 / 40 hours per week. Mandatory
- This position is compensated at minimum wage.
Required Certifications, Licenses, Training, etc.
- Current Level C Standard First Aid & CPR Certification.
- High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification.
- Any additional certifications demonstrating applicable experience working with children ages 4-12.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated aptitude and passion for delivering an exceptional and engaging camp experience.
- Previous childminding experience is required with preference given to those who possess day camp
- Ability to demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities, strong customer service, organizational,
