Job Title: Summer Camp Counselor - Muskoka Hockey Day Camp

Job Overview:

We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as Summer Camp Counselors for our Hockey Day Camp. As a camp counselor, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and engaging experience for campers, fostering their love for hockey, and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment. Responsibilities:

Camp Activities:

Lead and participate in a variety of camp activities, including team-building exercises and recreational games.

Assist in organizing and executing special events and tournaments related to the hockey program.

Safety and Supervision:

Ensure the safety and well-being of campers during all activities.

Supervise campers during breaks, meals, and other non-hockey related activities.

Implement and enforce camp policies and procedures to create a secure environment.

Role Model and Mentorship:

Serve as a positive role model for campers by exhibiting sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.

Foster a sense of camaraderie among campers and encourage positive social interactions.

Communication:

Effectively communicate with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.

Provide regular updates on campers' progress and achievements to parents/guardians.

Qualifications:

Hockey Expertise:

Strong background in hockey with a solid understanding of fundamental skills and game strategies.

Experience playing or coaching hockey at a competitive level.

Leadership Skills:

Demonstrated leadership ability and the capacity to motivate and inspire campers.

Ability to work effectively within a team and take initiative when needed.

Communication:

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to engage and connect with campers of various ages and skill levels.

Responsibility and Reliability:

Dependable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility.

Ability to handle challenges and solve problems in a positive and proactive manner.

Safety Awareness:

Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR is a plus.

Commitment to maintaining a safe and secure camp environment.

Schedule:

This is a seasonal position during the summer months. Counselors are expected to commit to the full duration of the camp program, including any required training sessions.

Contract length: 2 months

Salary: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
