Lowertown Brew Pub is a fast-paced, creative, and collaborative kitchen located in Ottawa, ON. We are looking for a Chef De Cuisine to be in command in our kitchen and lead our team. The successful candidate will employ its culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers’ satisfaction.

The successful candidate will be a well-trained and experienced Chef who will play a critical role in ensuring our customers’ satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Chef Job Responsibilities:

  • Directs food preparation and collaborates with the executive chef.
  • Helps in the creation of the food menu selections.
  • Produces high quality dishes, including both presentation and taste.
  • Oversees and supervises kitchen staff. Is a positive leader and coach.
  • Assists with menu planning, inventory, and management of supplies.
  • Ensures that food is top quality and that the kitchen is in great condition.
  • Reduces waste.
  • Manages various checklists and operational systems.
  • Keeps stations clean and complies with food safety standards.
  • Offers suggestions and creative ideas that can improve upon the kitchen’s performance.
  • Prepare food properly.
  • Schedules staff shifts.
  • Trains new employees.
  • Orders food supplies.
  • Monitors and maintains kitchen equipment.
  • Solves problems that arise and seizes control of issues in the kitchen.
  • Creates recipes and updates the inventory system including monthly counts.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Formal culinary training
  • 5 years culinary experience
