about the team
The Chemicals Management team at lululemon defines and govern chemicals usage across our product and supply chain by proactively mitigating risks of internal and external compliance, and to meet stakeholder expectations, including work toward our impact agenda goals related to chemicals. The Chemicals Management team is part of Global Product Integrity function.

a day in the life: what you'll do
As the Chemicals Management Program Manager you will enable proactive sustainable chemical management practices at lululemon by developing systems to identify, track, and assess chemicals in the supply chain that are used to make our materials and products. In this global role you will also manage the phase-out of priority chemicals across product and packaging categories, monitor stakeholder sentiment related to chemicals, and support the development of sustainability projects related to chemistry.

Specifics accountabilities include: 
Chemical Identification and Assessment:
  • Develop and implement systems and processes to identify, track, and assess chemicals used in our supply chain.
  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to chemical management.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate the impact of chemicals on human health and the environment.

Chemical Phase-Out Program Management:
  • Design and execute programs to manage the phase-out of priority chemicals across all product and packaging categories.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate chemical phase-out initiatives into product development and supply chain processes.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular updates on the status of chemical phase-out efforts.

Sentiment Monitoring and Strategy Development:
  • Develop and implement systems to monitor guest, media, and NGO sentiment related to chemical management practices.
  • Analyze data to inform Chemicals Management strategy and communication efforts.
  • Collaborate with communication and public relations teams to respond effectively to stakeholder concerns and perceptions.

Support for Sustainable Chemistry Project:
  • Support the development of chemistry-related sustainable projects to align with our Be Planet mandate.
  • Ensure accuracy and credibility of chemistry related sustainability claims by providing technical expertise and data analysis support.

qualifications
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and sustainability principles related to chemical management. 
  • Knowledge of product development processes and supply chain management. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. 
  • Project management experience, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate cross-functional teams. 
  • Effective communication skills, with ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Continuous learning and staying updated on advancements in chemical regulations and sustainability best practices will also be essential for success in this role. 
  • Project management experience, PMP certification preferred.

compensation and benefits package
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $119,200 - $156,500 CAD annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.

workplace arrangement

This role is classified as Hybrid under our SSC Workplace Policy:  

  • In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed onsite at least 3 days per week.
