Child Care Worker

Overview:

The Child Care Worker provides Child Care support for mothers who access services at multiple locations and programs in Abbotsford and Mission communities.

Reports to: Manager of Family Services

Duties & Responsibilities:

• In conjunction with team members plans and implements developmentally age appropriate activities for children
• Monitors and ensures the safety and comfort of the children
• Reports any problems or concerns regarding children's safety to the Manager of Counselling
• Prepares and sets up all necessary equipment and materials for activities
• Provides emotional support and feedback to children impacted by violence and abuse
• Provides Child Care in both group and one-on-one settings

Skills and Knowledge:

• Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Group facilitation skills an asset
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively and compassionately with children, their mothers, and other professional service providers
• Ability to be flexible and manage time well in varying environments

Salary: $25.95-$29.76 per hour
