Job Description:
The Supported Child Development (SCDP) Worker will provide support to families, children and youth identified
as having special needs, in achieving their goals laid out in their individual service plan. This work is done in the
family’s home or in the community, in a group setting or on a one-to-one basis.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops relationships with client and their families.
- Work with child/youth to meet goals laid out in ISP
- Monitors clients’ progress and well-being and develops strategies to address crisis situations which
- Collaborates with SCDP Coordinator and client in regards to the development of service delivery, and
- Maintains necessary client and program reports and statistics. Ensures that all required documentation
- Participates in planning and delivery of group programming as appropriate.
- Participates in ongoing professional development
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
- A diploma or certificate in human services or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and
- First Aid Certificate required
Organization Competencies
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates the ability to teach skills and work effectively with others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Proficient in basic computer skills, record keeping, and scheduling
Experience Required
- Experience in providing support to families in general and in particular in the area of Supported Child
- Demonstrated understanding of Child Development as well as developmental disorders including
- Demonstrated understanding of strengths-based and collaborative approaches to working with
Wage:
In accordance with the Community Connections Wage Grid and qualifications/experience – Grid Level 1 (Jr.
Candidate) $21.73 - $25.32
Benefit Packages: Comprehensive medical and dental benefit packages available based on eligibility and
completion of probationary period
Location: Main Office and in community, child care and home settings
Hours: Full Time – up to 35 hours per week
Closing Date: Will stay open until filled
Start Date: Immediately
Contract End Date: March 31, 2025
