Responsibilities:
Allocate general and daily responsibilities set out during the pre and/or post meeting and throughout the day.
Responsible for layout of the job.
Responsible for accurate as-built data as produced.
Ensure manpower and resource are adequate.
Supervise the use of machinery and equipment.
Drive quality, efficiency, productivity of work crew and ensure the crew has all required tools for their work. Including PPE and emergency response measures.
Assess and confirm, through documentation, crew competency.
Work with Project Manager to schedule and coordinate tasks.
Ensure equipment is maintained at the highest standard and in a timely manner.
Identify equipment and labour resources requirements for task and their utilization.
Adhere to project and company environmental considerations.
Complete daily activity reports/daily logs.
Complete daily safety paperwork requirements.
Work with Project Management to schedule and coordinate work tasks.
Coordinate with other Foreman of subcontractors as required on the jobsite.
Coordinate with shallow utility locaters when on the jobsite and ensure the crew clearly understands where all buried utilities are.
Submit progress reports to ensure that the project is on track with deadlines that have been set out in the contract.
Must ensure solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.
Must examine situations, in light of, the principles of the Code of Ethics.
Participate as a vital team member and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support as required.
Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.
Take corrective action to mitigate immediate hazards.
Conduct incident investigations and prepare associated support documentation immediately.
Promotes, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourages all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
Qualifications:
Minimum five (5) years’ experience as a Foreman, with experience in water/sewer installations, subdivision servicing, roadway construction.
In depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OHS guidelines.
Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
Excellent organizational and leadership with the ability to communicate and report effectively.
Recognizes and understands the safe operation of heavy equipment and material handling.
Good communication and interpersonal skills required.
Must be a team player.
Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.
Not Required But Considered An Asset:
Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology degree/diploma considered an asset.
The following training courses would be considered an asset Leadership for Safety Excellence, Prime Contractor, CSTS-09, Ground Disturbance Level 2, H2S Awareness and WHMIS.
Experience with TopCon Base and Rover systems considered an asset.

Salary: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
