Class 1 Driver/Picker Operator

Encore is looking for an experienced Class 1 Driver with Picker experience or enthusiastic for a Boom Truck Apprenticeship with our team.

Job Description:

Drivers and Boom Truck operators are responsible for loading/offloading and hauling a wide variety of loads to our customer’s sites. As an operator you will manage trailer weights, securement and meet government and Encore regulations. As an operator you will complete a large array of lifts based on the crane charts and capacities and need to choose appropriate rigging for each lift they encounter. This is a safety sensitive position.

Job Requirements:

· Class 1 (+ air brake endorsement) license with a clean 5 year driving abstract

· Knuckle boom experience is an asset, a Boom Truck Apprenticeship is required following training

· Grapple experience is an asset

· Must have own reliable transportation

· Experience with completion of paperwork (driver logs, pre/post trip, BOL)

· Able to pass an alcohol and drug test various times during employment (customer and company policy)

Personal Characteristics:

· High safety awareness

· Enjoys working independently

· Being mechanically inclined is a strong asset

· Good co-ordination and manual dexterity

· Excellent inter-personal and communication skills

· Ability to plan and organize tasks to meet deadlines with high performance and safety top of mind

There is daily travel within the Alberta region with little to no overnighting required. The work scheduling is Monday to Friday with an on-call requirement of being on call for emergency situations every third week/weekend. The daily hours vary but equate to a full time position with year around work.
