Acden Environment is currently accepting applications for a Class 1 or 3 Operator to join its Syncrude site operations in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This position will consist of 5 days on, 5 days off, 4 days on 5 days off (5/5/4); 11.5-hour day shifts; however, schedules, shifts and site locations may change from time to time to meet operational requirements. This is a local position to Fort McMurray. No flight or camp will be provided. Bussing from designated bus stops in Fort McMurray to and from site is available.
What are the expectations for the role?
- Complete thorough commercial vehicle inspections, including documenting and reporting deficiencies promptly to immediate supervisor
- Ensure all waste services are completed in a safe and timely manner
- Operate roll off, front load and lugger trucks as required
- Inspect condition of waste bins, and monitoring condition and functionality
- Address and resolve client concerns and refer inquiries to leadership
- Notify dispatch of delays, unsafe work situations, incidents, equipment breakdowns and/or other maintenance or operational concerns
- Ensure that housekeeping and cleanliness of all worksites and equipment are sustained
- Understand and follow all Acden and client company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned that fulfill the demands of the role

What do we need from you?
- Valid Class 1 /Class 3 Operator’s License with airbrake endorsement is required
- Minimum of three (3) years of commercial driving experience is required.
- Valid Common Safety Orientation (CSO); or BSO certificate, or a combination of CSTS & OSSA is required
- If selected for an interview, you must submit commercial 5-year drivers’ abstract that is not more than 30 days old
- Ability to obtain clearance on drug, alcohol, hearing, visual and physical abilities pre-employment testing is required; this role is designated as safety- sensitive
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) experience is an asset
