The Loan Analyst position reports directly to the Senior Loan Analyst and requires a candidate that is both process and detail oriented to process new loan applications and endorsements. This individual will complete requests promptly and accurately with a high level of customer service that guides their interactions within and outside the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Processing New Loans and Endorsements
- Process new loans verifying for accuracy and completeness
- Review applicants for eligibility and submit applications for approval
- Process loan endorsements on a timely basis
- Compose all correspondence via letter and email
- Input and manage data in several systems and ensure tracking records are updated with each transaction
- Ensure lending operations are conducted in accordance with established policies and legal compliance.
- Manage all NSF and return payments in a timely and professional fashion
- Follow risk management processes to minimize losses from loan defaults
- Reconcile loan bank account daily
- Reconcile processing system balances weekly
- Reconcile inter-company balances daily
- Process credit card payments from loan customers
- Process monthly payments to associated companies
- Train new front line users on inputting loan requests into software
Reporting Support
- Provide weekly reports to the Finance team on reconciliation items
- Provide monthly confirmation of bank, system and inter-company balances
- Provide monthly reports for lenders
- Track and report special installment plans
- Report any and all issues to management as they occur
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- All new loans and endorsements processed with 99% accuracy
- All new loans and endorsements processed within 24 hours
- Bank balance, system balance and inter-company balance reconciled at least every month
- Payments to associated companies processed by 25th of each month
- Losses maintained below 1% of profits before taxes
CMB TEAM SUPPORT
- Be familiar with and follow company policies and procedures as established (Employee Handbook, Finance policies and procedures, etc.).
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and company functions.
- Demonstrate good corporate citizenship qualities with a positive attitude.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPEREINCE:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of spoken and written English essential for this position
- Commercial awareness to make sound business judgement
- Independent, process oriented with an attention to detail
- Strong computer skills and proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Math aptitude required to calculate financial formulas, interest and payment schedules
- Completion of high school or equivalent, required
- Post Secondary education in accounting or finance is an asset
