As part of the Corporate Services team, you report directly to the VP of People and will play a critical role in the Human Resources functions of the brokerage, across all branches. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Full Cycle HR Management
- Recruiting & Onboarding: Fully integrate new members of the team during their first 6-12months, providing an engaging experience to improve retention alongside ‘time to effectiveness’ in the role
- Compensation & Benefits: Ensure delivery of pay, benefits, and other reward programs in alignment with CMB’s compensation philosophy.
- Manage employee terminations & resignations: Ensure collection of feedback to support continuous improvement within the company.
- Policy & Procedure: Utilize policies and processes to support the needs of the employee and organization.
- Legal & Legislative Compliance: Act within the framework of employment standards and laws in jurisdictions in which the organization operates.
CMB’s People Care Process: Work Collaboratively to Support Retention
- Learning & Development: Align learning opportunities with employee career paths.
- Employee Relations: Coach managers to improve their employee relationships and foster a culture of trust within teams.
- Performance Management: ensure delivery of programs that are employee-owned, work-centered, and business-driven. Develop and support a full range of interventions and resources to ensure managers provide employees with appropriate development opportunities.
Leadership, Management & Accountability
- Remove Barriers & Obstacles: Monitor project effectiveness and provide regular updates and feedback to stakeholders, highlighting areas of risk.
- HR Technology: Manage the effective application of technology, leveraging for efficiency and accuracy.
- Analytics: Gather and present data to demonstrate insights from the business to schedule and plan HR processes so they align with business processes and understand the relationship between financial performance and talent decisions and outcomes.
CMB TEAM SUPPORT
- Attend department L10’s weekly
- Be familiar with and follow company policies and procedures as established (Employee Handbook, policies, and procedures, etc.)
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and other company functions
- Demonstrate good leadership qualities with a positive attitude and ability to motivate others
- Other related duties as required
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Greater than (>) 90% people care process compliance – all branches
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
- Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP)
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce with a concentration in Human Resources or a related field
- A minimum of five years of human resource management experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
