Job description

Position: Community Partnerships Manager

Reports To: Executive Director

Education: A relevant post-secondary educationand a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar role.

Purpose: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Community Partnerships Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing fundraising and community advocacy activities in order to meet Food Banks Alberta’s operational goals. Operating within the strategic plan, they will plan and implement comprehensive fundraising and fund development strategies. They will build and maintain a network of committed stakeholders and community partners. They will support member foods banks in their individual fundraising and promotions efforts through one on one support, training and capacity building activities.

Compensation: Determined based on experience.

Term: Permanent

Experience:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Commitment to and an understanding of the mission and values of Food Banks Alberta.
  • A successful record of meeting fundraising goals including soliciting and closing major gifts, running campaigns, and digital fundraising.
  • Significant knowledge of fund development best practices.
  • Ability to create and deliver communications materials in multiple platforms.
  • Ability to build relationships comfortably, tactfully, and effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Well-established project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Willingness to adapt quickly, take initiative, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Event planning experience.
  • Clear, concise and accurate communication and reporting skills.

Working Conditions and Other Requirements:

  • Flexible, hybrid that blends an in-home and in-office work arrangement. The in-office work environment is located at the Food Banks Alberta office in Leduc, AB.
  • An RCMP security clearance check is required for this role.
  • Evenings and weekend work, as required.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle. Travel is required for meetings with partners and stakeholders around the province.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Fund Development

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy in alignment with the organization's goals and financial needs.
  • Identify and cultivate new funding sources, including individual donors, foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Manage a portfolio of major donors, stewarding relationships and creating personalized engagement plans.
  • Developing diversified fundraising plans to achieve growth and sustained donor relationships in support of Food Banks Alberta strategic priorities and operational goals.
  • Plan and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives.

Stakeholder Relations and Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of FBA funders, donors and supporters.
  • Develop and implement stakeholder recognition and stewardship strategies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the organization's visibility and reputation within the community.
  • Plan and execute engagement opportunities such as presentations and networking events to grow and enhance current and future donor relationships.

Program Administration

  • Provide reporting and information to the Executive Director as requested.
  • Manage revenue development budgets.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting from all funding sources.
  • Maintain a comprehensive stakeholder database with updated contact information.
  • Develop and utilise evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness of fundraising campaigns and stakeholder engagement strategies.

Marketing and Communications

  • Develop and implement communications and marketing strategies, materials and mechanisms to engage current and future stakeholders and sponsors.
  • Create platforms and opportunities to share stories which inspire the community to support Food Banks Alberta and its member food banks.
  • Ensure communications materials are brand compliant, professional, timely, relevant, accurate, and meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Promote the organization, its purpose, needs and impact through the use of social media platforms, print materials, messaging and events.

Budget and Financial Management

  • Contribute information for the annual budget.
  • Monitor and analyze fundraising expenses, revenue projections, and performance against budget goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
