Refractory Construction Company looking for an Estimator for job related duties in the industrial (process industry) refractory construction sector. Job description as follows:
Estimate Compilation
Compile estimate material takeoffs in accordance with Company estimating standards.
Compile estimate man-hour requirements for supervision, skilled and unskilled labour. Calculations to be based upon productivity rates as set by estimating standards and/or previous case studies.
Compile estimate equipment, subcontractor and freight requirements.
Written Proposal Preparation
For each estimate, prepare a detailed written proposal including the covering page, scope of work, specifications, pricing summary, terms and general conditions.
Engineering/Technical Services
Prepare engineered drawings using AutoCAD in accordance with Company engineering standards.
Quality Control & Assurance
Assist in preparation of project quality control documents, inspections and submissions.
Inter-Company/Customer Communications
Travel to proposal sites as required to obtain a better understanding of the scope of work.
Upon contract award, assist the construction supervisor/co-ordinator as required to process the contract.
Health & Safety
Participate in, promote and support our Health & Safety policies and program. Health & Safety training will be provided on an on-going basis relevant to our industry.
Responsibilities
Direct responsibility to the Location Manager.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum two (2) to three (3) year technical post-secondary education with emphasis in the industrial/construction sector, training in refractory construction techniques will be provided.
Working knowledge of computer software including estimating, project management, computer-aided design (AutoCAD) and integrated suite applications (MS Office).
Ability to utilize office-related equipment including photocopiers, telephone voice mail and fax systems.
Strong organizational capabilities combined with excellent communication skills.
Ontario Drivers License.

Salary: $28.00-$31.25 per hour
