Cook, Blue Flame Kitchen Café

We’re looking for a fierce and friendly breakfast cook to join our diverse & vibrant team. This role is for Blue Flame Kitchen Café. Monday thru Friday 7am – 3pm.
Reporting to the Café Chef, the cook will be responsible for delighting our guests with made-from-scratch meals and working in our Café kitchen at ATCO Park in Calgary. Our goal is to make every customer experience memorable and keep them coming back for more. Blue Flame Kitchen employees are provided with a uniform, receive complimentary parking, beverages & staff meal with an excellent work-life balance. We offer competitive wages of $18-20 hourly rate.
The Blue Flame Kitchen is our oldest brand, having been a part of Alberta for over 90 years. The Blue Flame Kitchen (or BFK as we call it), provides classes, recipes, cookbooks, take away meals, catering and delicious café services. On a daily basis, you’ll:
- Prepare, cook and execute our Cafe lunch menu alongside the café cooking team
- Meet and greet our fantastic customers in our open kitchen.
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the café chef
- Ensure proper storage of food inventory and equipment according to AHS standards
- Wash/sanitize equipment according to AHS guidelines
- Package and label products for sales and shipping
- Track operational output measures (yield, quality, temperatures, etc.)
- Adjust production plans according to business levels
- Maintain personal hygiene and wellness
- Be responsible for opening duties within the kitchen team
- Comply with food and sanitation regulation and safety standards

- Preparing food items, following standard recipes and procedures
- Taste testing and quality assurance
- Ensuring food consistency
What you have:
- Cooking experience preferred
- Excellent understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to perform duties quickly and under pressure
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Attention to detail
- Honesty, integrity, and ethical behavior
- High school diploma required
