Job Skills / Requirements
Reporting to the Client Service Manager, the Paladin Site Security Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision, scheduling, and direction of all site assigned Officers, training and orientation of all new Officers, and performing additional tasks as requested by the CSM. The Cruise Season Security Supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining the daily operation of the site, scheduling, and completing performance evaluations. Further responsibilities include answering all incoming phone calls to the site cell phone and ensuring all entry points are adequately staffed with trained and cleared staff.
This is a high profile site where high level of independent decision making as well as high level of customer service skills are absolutely necessary. The ability to plan and multitask is essential for this role. Strong leadership and interpersonal skillsets are required to handle common operational items, such as: a) staffing last minute coverage requests and/or short-notice book offs; b) communicating procedural changes and or additions to patrol/access control duties to all staff; c) provide support and coaching to staff in accordance with Paladin's policies.
Wage: Starting at $26.25 per hour.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
•Supervise the Security staff assigned to the site, and detail and act as a resource for Security issues in accordance with PSG Policy and Procedure. Ensure adherence of guidelines and standards for security staff in accordance to expectations set out by Western Stevedoring and the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority.
•Maintain and enforce all Paladin and Ogden Point policies and procedures on site and ensure the highest standard of our security program on site.
•Supervise and assist all officers with responsibilities delegated to them.
•Ensure all Reports are completed with respective reporting software, and each Officer submits complete and accurate daily reports and incident reports in Tracktik. Follow up with inaccuracies or omissions. Review, edit and approve all site Incident Reports and escalate incidents as required.
•Liaise with Security Client Reps, while representing both the Client and Paladin Security with the utmost professionalism.
•Conduct site orientation and training of new officers, ensuring site orientation packages and officer review tests are completed within the allotted training period. Monitor performance and behavior of officers and document where standards are not being met. Ensure staff training meets requirements of the MTSRs for Marine Facility Personnel with Security Responsibilities.
•Draw up and maintain a site and training schedule, ensuring that all shifts are covered. Assist with shift coverage where needed.
•Facilitate Special Coverage requests from the client, and act as the first point of contact for the site in case of major emergencies.
•Arrange coverage for any open shifts on an as-needed basis.
•Ensure all officers have read and signed off on all Paladin Health and Safety Policies and ensure all accidents are reported in a timely manner.
•Perform other duties as required and/or requested.
Education and Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of security leadership experience.
Candidates must be able to qualify for a Transport Security Clearance.
Candidates must be willing to undergo additional specialized training.
Skills and Abilities
Lead, plan, organize, delegate and problem solve.
Administer site schedule including contacting staff for last minute adjustments.
Ability to effectively supervise.
Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Effective communication, both in writing and verbally, including delivering presentations to groups.
Function effectively in a highly dynamic environment.
Maintenance of professionalism in all situations.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
COMPENSATION:
The position of Cruise Season Site Supervisor is a Seasonal Full Time hourly position that will be compensated at a wage of $26.25 per hour, forty (40) hours per week from April 1, 2024 - October 30, 2024.
