JOB OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Project Security Manager or Deputy Project Security Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for general security supervision / investigations as well as mentoring of contracted guards.
- Supervise, mentor and train contracted guards at Cedar Valley Lodge, Main Site and Marine Facility.
- Oversee specialty guard functions such as random searches, CCTV monitoring, mobile patrols etc.
- Assist with drug dog inspections and searches as required.
- Resolve issues or conflicts at Site access gates regarding ID badges, Visitors, Vehicle passes.
- Respond to security incidents within Cedar Valley Lodge and on the Main Site and take action to resolve the situation (A&D, verbal conflict, thefts etc.)
- Conduct investigations and write investigation reports.
- Oversee security statistics collection.
- Support and lead site safety initiatives.
- Assist with emergencies at CVL, Main Site and Marine Facility.
- Prepare a variety of reports.
To be Considered Candidates:
Basic Job Requirements
- Minimum 10 years policing experience in a Canadian Police Force.
- Minimum 5 years in a police supervision or specialized unit.
- Strong investigative background
- Strong knowledge of core security principles
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Willing to work flexible Shifts.
- Willing and able to work in a remote, camp style environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with or supervising contracted guards.
- Previous experience on major construction projects and/or working on an oil/gas site.
- Strong interpersonal, listening and communications skills, capacity to build trust among internal and external stakeholders.
- Established track record as a self-starter with the ability to work and succeed without direct supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in high-stress and challenging environments.
- Team player – ability to influence without authority and support the success of a team.
- Must have excellent English verbal and written language skills.

LNGC Rotational Schedule:
This position is open to local candidates on a 5X2 schedule or on a 14X7 rotational basis with charter hubs out of Calgary, Edmonton, Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Prince George, Regina, Winnipeg, Hamilton, Halifax, and St. John’s NL.
Employment Status: Due to the project nature of the industry this position may be a contractor hire.
